Dropping in quickly today as I am pretty busy...but I wanted to share with everyone a new piece that I finished up today: a brooch made of soy silk fibers, dyed, sterling silver, freshwater pearls, and polyurethane plastic.

Finally...
I finally redid my tiny tiny kitchen/studio space/dining area after being in my apt. for one year. It was cramped, unorganized and made me not want to work, but now it's spacious an organized (for a 6 x 8 ft. space and we actually have somewhere to eat!)

I have come to the conclusion that one must multi-task and find things that can be multi-functional when living and working in such a small space :)
I also wanted to share a guitarist that I have been listening to. Yamandu Costa is a Brazilian musician who plays contemporary Choro music on his guitar (It's a traditional finger picking style of Brazilian music). His duet cd with Dominguinhios, "Yamandu & Dominguinhos" is great background music and it has distinguishable old French sounding flare to it. Love it!
Hope everyone's having a great week so far

Polyp Rings and Various Other Things...
Time seems to be flying so far this year and I can't believe it's already halfway through March. When I think about how much work I have to do I get quite nervous. I know I have to plow through it and be thankful and proud of what I've accomplished... so that makes all the hard work worth it. I have been keeping busy with many projects including some new pieces.
To stay motivated I have been listening to the self titled Yael Naim album quite a bit (you may recognize the song "new soul" as it's used in the new mac book air commercials). She has such a beautiful voice and the whole album is just lovely..."Paris", "Shelcha" and "Toxic" (yes it's a cover of the Britney Spears song) are a few of my faves.
My friend, fellow artist and boss Kathy Frey has recently launched an Etsy Shop and blog "Taming the Tangle". Her sculptural wire work is sophisticated and unique and worth a look :)

Hope everyone has a nice week (and that the weather isn't gloomy for too much longer)

from Peter_liveThis is a new bracelet that I have been working on...it's still not done yet but I'm super excited about it. In fact I can't quit thinking about and making pieces for this series (even when I have orders to fill and deadlines to meet). When it rains it poors!
